Notably, this edition of the Asia Cup represents the first occasion where multiple countries have joined hands to co-host the event. Pakistan will host four matches, while Sri Lanka will be the stage for the remaining nine thrilling encounters.

This marks Nepal's debut in the ACC Asia Cup, having qualified for the event for the very first time.
In January 2023, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) unveiled the event's pathway structure and calendar for 2023 and 2024. The announcement confirmed the schedule and framework of the upcoming tournament. Originally slated for 2021, the event was rescheduled to 2023 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The fixture list for the competition was officially revealed on the 19th of July, 2023.
Tournament Format:
The structure and groups for the competition were unveiled on the 9th of January 2023. The six participating teams were divided into two groups of three. A total of 13 thrilling matches are on the docket, encompassing six league matches, six Super 4 matches, and culminating in a climactic final showdown.
Group A comprises India, Pakistan, and Nepal, all of whom earned their positions through the 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup. In Group B, the defending champions, Sri Lanka, will face off against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 stage, where they'll vie for supremacy. Subsequently, the crème de la crème from this stage will engage in an electrifying championship match.
In terms of seeding, Pakistan and India are designated as A1 and A2, respectively, while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are honored as B1 and B2. Notably, should Nepal and Afghanistan qualify for the Super 4 stage, they will step in to fill the slot of the team eliminated from either Group A (Pakistan or India) or Group B (Sri Lanka or Bangladesh).
